Getting there

At Cruise Port IJmuiden, the cruise ship of your choice can berth at two convenient and easy to get to locations, but please note that almost all cruises depart from the Felison Cruise Terminal (near the beach) and not from the much smaller Felison Terminal!

Getting there by car:

  1. Exit the A9 highway at the “IJmuiden / Beverwijk” (A22) junction.
  2. Follow signs for “IJmuiden” and turn left at the traffic lights.
  3. Continue following this road alongside the North Sea Canal (on your right).
  4. Turn right towards “Sluizen” when you see the former “Witte Theater” in front of you.
  5. Follow the canal until you reach the Felison Terminal at the end of the road.

Getting there by public transport from Beverwijk Station:

  1. Take Connexxion bus line 74 from Beverwijk Station.
  2. Get off at the “Oranjestraat” bus stop in IJmuiden.
  3. Walk towards the canal, turning left, and the Felison Terminal will be visible after about 400 meters.

Getting there by car:

  1. Exit the A9 highway at the “IJmuiden / Beverwijk” (A22) junction.
  2. Follow signs for “IJmuiden” and turn left at the traffic lights.
  3. From the ‘Pontplein’ (ferry to Velsen Noord / Beverwijk on your right), follow the ‘Kanaaldijk’ alongside the North Sea Canal (on your right).
  4. Continue on this main road, passing the viaduct, and exit the two roundabouts at the second exit.
  5. Follow the sign to “IJmond Haven” onto ‘Strandweg’, which becomes ‘Zeehavenweg’.
  6. After about 1500 meters, you’ll find the Felison Cruise Terminal on your right.

Getting there by public transport from Haarlem Central Station:

  1. Take R-Net bus line 385 to “IJmuiden” from Haarlem Train Station.
  2. Get off at the “Dennekoplaan” bus stop and switch to R-Net bus line 382, heading to “IJmuiden aan Zee.”
  3. Alight at the “Badweg” bus stop and look for a stairway on your right, approximately 40 meters from the bus stop.
  4. Climb the stairs, cross the dike, and you’ll see the Felison Cruise Terminal ahead.

Getting there by public transport from Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station:

  1. Take R-Net bus line 382 to “IJmuiden aan Zee” from Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station.
  2. Get off at IJmuiden’s “Badweg” bus stop, and as before, follow the stairway to the dike.

Getting there by public transport from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport:
There isn’t a direct connection from the airport to the Felison Cruise Terminal, but it’s straightforward:

  1. Take a train from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station (trains run frequently).
  2. The journey takes only 11 minutes.
  3. From there, follow the public transport instructions mentioned above for getting to the terminal in IJmuiden.

Please note that public buses in the Netherlands do not accept cash payments!
